
I was born in 1962 and started on my path to become an illustrator when I was 15 years old, trying to impress on a girl whose brother was an artist. It went so-so with the girl. But the love for the image lasted."
Per Gustavsson grew up in Arvika and lives now in Stockholm. He is an illustrator and author. Educated at HDK in Gothenburg, Per made his first children's book in 1995, Stoppa Bollen (Stop the ball), at Rabén & Sjogren. Since then there has been a lot of books, including those about the wayward and outspoken Princess, that have sold more than 160,000 copies and are published in all the Nordic countries. Per Gustavsson is a member of the Swedish Children's Book Academy and was awarded the Elsa Beskow plaque for his book Skuggsidan (Shadow Side) 2014.
