Joanna Hellgren, born in 1981, was educated at the Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. Joanna has lived in Paris and her comic books Mon frère nocturne and Frances were first published in French by Éditions Cambourakis. She has illustrated the new edition of Katarina Taikon’s books about Katitzi, and the picture book Småkrypsboll (Bugs Ball) with text by Tove Pierrou, for which they were awarded Snöbollen for the best picture book of the year 2015. Joanna’s work has been exhibited in France, Italy, Belgium and Sweden. She was among the 31 illustrators who represented Sweden at the Children's Book Fair in Bologna in 2013 and is nominated for the ALMA prize 2015.
