Camilla Engman

I want both paintings and illustrations to add something, not to simply be decorative. It feels like I’m looking for a true, simple line. I have no idea what that is, but I think I will know it, feel it, when I see it.

Camilla Engman was born 1966 in Trollhättan, Sweden. Camilla graduated from HDK, the University School of Design and Craft in Gothenburg, where she today lives and works. Camilla has exhibited, among other places, in the US, Canada, the UK and Italy. Commercially, she has worked for clients such as The New York Times, Converse and Google. In 2005 she founded a blog that today inspires thousands of readers worldwide every day. Camilla’s first children’s book, Troppo tardi (Too late) was published in Italy by Topipittori in 2010, which led to collaborations with French, Norwegian and Swedish publishers. Camilla has illustrated Barbro Lindgren’s Vi leker att vi är pippifåglar (Let’s Pretend We’re Baby Birds) published by Rabén & Sjögren in 2013.
