Every time I sit down to draw I immediately become a child again. I find again the box of blunt pencils with me, trying to copy a bird, my mother peeling onions on the kitchen table while it's raining outside, racing under the arcades of Bologna, the smell of roasted chestnuts at Christmas and of the rain on the grass in the gardens."
Beatrice Alemagna is an international illustrator and author based in Paris. Beatrice’s work appears in over 35 children’s books translated in more than 13 languages. Her work has been published, exhibited and reviewed around the world. She received numerous national and international awards and won also the Andersen Italian prize and the Bologna Ragazzi Award mention. She has been nominated three times for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award.
